I recently had the pleasure of collaborating on a fast and dirty site-specific project with dancers/movers Paul Besaw, Erika Senft Miller, and several other artists of various mediums. The event was in an old power plant on Burlington's waterfront. The the plan is for the building to be converted into a market/venue/multi-use community space. It was a real treat to get into the space in this time of limbo - full of history but in decay and disrepair, before any renovation has started. Below is a brief description of the performance and a rehearsal picture to give you a taste. I will share video and photos from the event itself once I have my hands on them!
Powered By Moran
A Multisensory Performance
Sunday, June 7, 2015 — 5pm
Inspired by its history and fueled by its future, movement artist Erika Senft Miller has invited fellow creatives in dance, sound and light to join in an exploration of Moran Plant.
Powered by Moran is multisensory and improvisational, encouraging the audience to discover Moran Plant in new and unexpected ways.
This will be a site-specific performance investigating the potential to create something through collective experience that is larger than any individual.
